Secrets La Romana: Airports, Hotel Names and Arrival Planning

Choose an arrival airport and identify the current adults-only property, with reception, luggage, group and return-pickup planning.

Quick answer: Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa is the adults-only property on Playa Bayahibe formerly known as Hilton La Romana Adults-Only. For a journey from an airport straight to the hotel, a pre-booked private transfer gives you one agreed destination and pickup plan. La Romana International Airport (LRM) has the shortest drive; Punta Cana (PUJ) and Las Américas (SDQ) are alternatives when their flights suit your itinerary.

Where is Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa?

The current Hyatt property page gives the address as Playa Bayahibe, La Romana, 23000, Dominican Republic. Use the property name with that address. A request simply for “La Romana” could mean the city, an airport, Casa de Campo or a hotel elsewhere in the holiday region.

The local hotel association records the Hilton brand transition: Secrets is the adults-only property and Dreams La Romana is the family property. If an older voucher still says Hilton, ask the accommodation provider to confirm the current property before arranging the ride.

Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa is the adjacent family-oriented resort. Dreams Dominicus La Romana is a different hotel. Our Bayahibe and Dominicus planning guide explains the surrounding areas; this guide focuses on arrival at Secrets.

Best airport for Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa

LRM is the closest of these three airports by road. Compare the complete flight itinerary as well as ground travel: a short drive may be less useful if the flight involves an inconvenient connection. Confirm the airport code before requesting a quote.

PUJ is a practical alternative when its flight works better for you. Allow around an hour or more for the road journey, separately from immigration, baggage collection and meeting your driver.

SDQ means a longer approach from the west. It can suit an itinerary that also includes Santo Domingo. A city stay before the resort is a separate pickup address; an airport estimate should not be reused for a city-centre collection.

What the drive to Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa is like

The representative PUJ route uses Autopista del Coral; the SDQ approach uses Autovía del Este. The journey finishes on the local approach to the Bayahibe property. The highway portion and the final hotel arrival are different planning tasks: a map pin helps locate the resort, while the reception instruction tells the driver where your booking should end.

Request shopping or sightseeing stops in advance. For a late flight, agree meeting instructions before departure and keep a reachable contact number.

Arrival, lobby and gate access

Put Secrets La Romana Resort & Spa — adults-only property in the request, with the guest name from your confirmation. The hotel FAQ directs guests with missing confirmations to its reservations team.

Confirm the accepted vehicle entrance, reception drop-off and return meeting point with the hotel and transport coordinator. Published photographs of the lobby help you recognise the setting, but do not establish driver access. We have no verified standing arrangement that permits any particular reception lane or pickup inside the property.

If your group is split between Secrets and Dreams La Romana, list both stops with passenger numbers. Do not assume adjoining properties mean one reception or one drop-off. For an event involving non-resident guests, ask the hotel to confirm access separately from the vehicle booking.

Private transfer options

For an airport-to-one-address journey, request a pre-booked private transfer. A round trip can record both flights at the outset; different arrival and departure airports should be named explicitly. For an outing combining several stops, request a private driver or hourly service and give the visit sequence. Send the itinerary for an exact quote.

Self-drive

Rental car

A practical alternative when you are comfortable driving locally and need a vehicle throughout your stay.

  • Check insurance, deposit and licence requirements
  • Confirm parking at your accommodation
  • Allow time for collection and return

Taxi and shared transport

Not our recommended choice when the journey needs a confirmed meeting point, route or final entrance. For safer, more orderly planning—especially with a group, children or special luggage—pre-book a private transfer or choose a rental car when self-driving suits the trip.

Which vehicle fits your party and luggage?

Choose from the passenger count and the luggage volume. Capacity depends on luggage, child seats and special equipment, so we confirm the best fit with your exact quote.

ClassPassengersTypically suits
Mid Size SUVUp to 2Couples and solo travellers with standard luggage
Full Size SuburbanUp to 4Small families and travellers wanting more luggage room
Premium VanUp to 5Families who want space rather than a full-size van
H-350 VanUp to 11Larger families and small groups travelling together
Large Sprinter VanUp to 15Groups with substantial luggage or sports equipment

Planning for this hotel and your party

Choose for the bags as well as the seats. Two adults with ordinary suitcases and two adults with golf bags or dive equipment can need different vehicle space. Declare oversized items, folded mobility aids and assistance requirements. A hotel accessibility statement does not establish wheelchair-accessible transport availability; describe the boarding and equipment arrangements.

Secrets welcomes adults aged 18 and over, according to its property FAQ. If friends are staying with children at neighbouring Dreams La Romana, give each party its own hotel endpoint. Include child-seat requirements for any family leg, even when the main booking is for an adults-only stay.

For wedding arrivals, list flights by airport and arrival time before choosing a shared vehicle. Agree whether early arrivals should wait or travel separately. Keep ceremony reporting time and airport arrival time separate.

Transportation from the hotel to nearby attractions

For Bayahibe village or Dominicus, name the restaurant, excursion desk or beach access point rather than asking for a general area. Nearby hotels such as Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus and Catalonia Bayahibe are separate destinations; visiting arrangements need confirmation with the property concerned.

For a Saona Island excursion, ask the operator for its exact check-in location and reporting time. A road transfer to the departure point does not include the boat crossing, excursion tickets or permission to board. Confirm first whether the excursion package already includes hotel pickup.

For Altos de Chavón or a Casa de Campo visit, agree the named entrance and destination rather than using “La Romana.” Our La Romana and Casa de Campo transport page covers that separate service area. Request wait-and-return or a driver for multiple visits when a single direct drop-off will not cover the plan. Attraction admissions and visitor access remain separate arrangements.

Return transfer to the airport

Confirm the departure airport, flight number and flight date. Work backwards from the airline's required airport arrival time, then add the agreed driving allowance, loading time and contingency. The shortest map time is not a hotel departure recommendation.

Reconfirm the Secrets pickup point and have luggage ready before collection. Keep Secrets on the transport confirmation, even with an older Hilton voucher. Declare any additional Dreams pickup or change of airport.

What to send for an exact quote

A useful quote describes the complete transport job rather than the destination name alone.

  • Full current hotel name and both pickup/drop-off endpoints
  • Travel dates, airport codes, flight numbers and arrival/departure times
  • Adult/child counts, suitcases, carry-ons and oversized golf/dive equipment
  • Child seats, mobility aids and required boarding assistance
  • Every stop, return airport, confirmed reception and a reachable contact

Frequently asked questions

Is Secrets La Romana the former Hilton adults-only hotel?

Yes. The local hotel association identifies Secrets as the adults-only brand and Dreams La Romana as the family brand following the Hilton transition. Use the current reservation name for transport.

Is Dreams Dominicus the same as the Dreams next to Secrets?

No. Dreams La Romana Resort & Spa is the adjacent family property. Dreams Dominicus La Romana is a separate hotel. Keep the full names on pickup and drop-off instructions.

Are airport transfers included with the hotel?

The property's FAQ excludes airport transfers unless otherwise provided and says additional-cost arrangements are available. A travel package can have different inclusions; check your own voucher before booking a second ride.

Which airport has the shortest drive?

LRM has the shortest of the three representative routes in this guide. Compare flight schedules and the whole itinerary before choosing between LRM, PUJ and SDQ.

Can a private driver take us to several places?

Request a driver or hourly itinerary with each stop, visit duration and return destination. Confirm hotel and attraction access separately, especially for non-resident visitors and events.
